Idea Department Policy for the Protection and Prevention of
Sexual Harassment, Exploitation, Abuse and Corruption
Purpose
Idea Department e.V. is committed to creating a safe, respectful and transparent environment for all staff, members, partners and beneficiaries. We uphold the highest standards of integrity and accountability. This policy sets out our zero-tolerance stance on sexual harassment, exploitation, abuse and corruption in any form.
1. Protection and Prevention of Sexual Harassment, Exploitation and Abuse (PSEAH)
Zero Tolerance: Any form of sexual harassment, exploitation or abuse is strictly prohibited. This includes unwanted advances, abuse of power, or any behavior that demeans or harms another person.
Safeguarding Beneficiaries: Staff and representatives of Idea Department must never engage in sexual relationships with program participants, beneficiaries, or anyone in a position of vulnerability.
Mandatory Reporting: All staff and members are obliged to report suspicions or incidents of harassment, exploitation or abuse through confidential reporting channels.
Confidentiality & Protection: Whistleblowers, survivors and witnesses will be protected against retaliation. Reports will be handled sensitively and in line with applicable law.
Training & Awareness: All staff and members will receive regular training on safeguarding, codes of conduct and reporting procedures.
2. Anti-Corruption
Integrity & Transparency: Idea Department maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards bribery, embezzlement, fraud, extortion, money laundering, or any other corrupt practice.
Use of Resources: All funds and assets must be used solely for the organization’s mission and activities as defined in our statutes.
Conflict of Interest: Board members, staff and representatives must disclose any personal or financial interests that could improperly influence their role.
Financial Accountability: Transparent bookkeeping, dual-control systems, and independent audits are maintained to ensure proper use of resources.
Whistleblower Protection: Staff, members and external partners can safely report corruption concerns without fear of retaliation.
3. Implementation & Enforcement
Responsibility: The Board is responsible for enforcing this policy and ensuring procedures are in place for prevention, monitoring and response.
Disciplinary Measures: Any breach may result in disciplinary action up to termination of membership, contract or cooperation, and may be referred to relevant legal authorities.
Continuous Improvement: The policy is reviewed regularly to ensure alignment with best practices in safeguarding and anti-corruption.
